Metro 2033

I loved some of the ideas in the game like the fact that you have Russians reenacting WWII in subway tunnels but ultimately it felt a bit squandered with the actual gameplay of mediocre shooting mixed with blah horror. I mean really the Dark Ones main defense to being nuked is a platforming challenge? I'll definitely come back for the sequel to see if they can pair the cool world with some better mechanics but this one can probably be skipped even in its Redux'd form.

Overall a super solid AA shooter. I played the Redux version which is actually pretty gorgeous. It's a little janky due to its AA roots, shooting never feels that great. But the overall vibe of the Metro is a very unique experience. The plot and lore were meh. Music is super low budget...But I hear they get better so I'm looking forward to that.
