I remember being a petulant teenager when this came out and refusing to play it cause Indie Game The Movie and subsequent backlash about Phil Fish being a douche. What an incredibly dumb reason to miss out on playing this game for so long.
The core premise of a 2d world you can flip in a 3d space is so clever. The puzzles utilize it so well. Gomez is adorable and handles great. There’s so many hidden puzzles and a hidden language and even puzzles with rhythm. It’s full of so many ideas. And most of them are very good. Only a couple levels bored me a bit (the mario green levels due to the muted pallet and boring water puzzles). All in all it's an incredibly tight game that constantly has little surprises for you in it's none-too-long runtime. Love a tight, fun game.
