You ever play one of those games where you're like "Man this isn't that good..." but you keep playing it and look forward to playing it more? And you finish it and years later you find yourself over and over looking back at it fondly? Fantasy Life is one of those games. Evaluated on each of its individual systems it comes up short: incredibly basic combat, grindy crafting tiers to become stronger, repetitive minigames for the different professions, and a terrifically uninteresting story. And yet for many people, including myself, it pulls you in. It's just. so. CUTE. Somehow through the sum of the parts and the immaculate vibes--I'm sure due in no small part to the delightful plinky-plonky toybox-ass music from Nobuo Uematsu--it's just this adorable little world to spend time in. I absolutely rinsed this sucker, maxing out every profession along the way. Whether I was crafting furniture or whacking baddies with my newly crafted weapon (that I farmed all the mats for and crafted myself using the other professions--so fun!) I was having a blast. Do yourself a favor and check it out and hopefully it'll put a smile on your face too!

Very grindy but very fun and addicting. Combat was a little basic and annoying but I loved the other professions (crafting/harvesting)
