State of Decay
Review
Oh man I love this game.
When I found out about it it was one of those "This is my dream game I can't believe someone actually made it" moments.
Surviving in a zombie apocalypse, with base building, and a party, scavenging for loot to keep your people alive. With RPG mechanics and some shooting. Are you kidding me?!?!
Now, while some of this is soured by it being kind of a janky production where combat and so forth doesn't feel great. Overall I was addicted for I dunno 20 or 30 hours. I love how you have different characters with different states. You have different bases you can move between. Scavenging for stuff and fitting just enough in your car to make it back is great.
The other thing that holds this game back is there's no real end game. AND the game doesn't respawn things in the zone. You eventually will just run out of stuff and die. Which is pretty ridiculous. It sounds like they had a chance to fix all of this in the sequel...and came up short. I will likely check it out anyway because this game was so fun.
