Fallout 76
Review
Grindy. The grind is pretty addicting. Pretty fun. Needs more content. Had a lot of fun playing this with Ross.

UPDATE 1/23/2021:
Dropping this to a 6 after replaying it for a solid 5 or 6 hours last Sunday.
Even after adding more content and streamlining some of the smaller mechanics like looting it really is just not a good game. I found for the 5 hours I played I was basically grinding for loot. Making trips back and forth to drop off stuff. Killing the same enemies over and over for measly experience.
The whole time cool stuff is constantly gated behind needing recipes to craft things like a Power Armor workstation. And there’s no clear avenue to get those things to show up other than to just explore and fight stuff.
I’m also replaying Fallout 4 which I am honestly kind of loving. And that game makes me realize that Fallout 76 is basically Fallout 4 but they slow the progress down to a crawl and then add extra layers of bullshit to deal with like needing to repair your gear and grind for recipes. That and there’s more content with somehow less quest content. It feels like a big empty world. With the exception of other players.
Don’t get me started on how it’s basically necessary to pay $13/mo to get basic quality of life features like the infinite stash and junk stash.
That all being said it is fun for a bit before you realize you’re on a treadmill. And especially if you play with friends.
