Portal

Another game where I won't say anything people haven't said before. A fundamentally genius game. I remember playing in the Source engine and just mucking about with the physics and thinking "Aw why can't the gravity gun lift X". Then Garry's Mod came and allowed us to do all SORTS of things with the physics. And I don't know if I remember thinking portals would be cool but someone did and as soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it.

Fundamentally a fun puzzle platformer with a huge amount of personality and humor. I mean if you had left out the humor and story and atmosphere it still would have a classic but all of that added in really took it to the next level.

Updating this and dropping the rating to an 8. While I think it was a really fun game, at the end of the day, with my personal tastes, I just don't think a platforming puzzler is nearly as fun as playing something like Pillars of Eternity or Metal Gear Solid 2. It's just not as fun. Everything else about it is brilliant but I need to make sure these ratings represent my own subjective enjoyment of games.

I had this at like a 78 or something which is insane. It was an incredibly fun game and one of the greatest games of all time. And as puzzle games go I actually finished it which is saying something.
