Spore

Spore. I feel this might be one of the most reviled games ever. They promised the world. A game that would start as an amoeba and eventually turn into a spacefaring civilization. And you know what they delivered on that promise. It's just that in the end it was basically a set of weakly fleshed out minigames that made up each stage along the way.

I honestly think if this game came out today and it was done by an indie studio it would be a cult classic or a solid hit. But given the hype around it it felt like a big turd.

Because each minigame is actually pretty fun. Designing your weird ass creatures is cool. And the end game in space is like a weak but cool 4x game.

I'm giving it a 6 but honestly after a replay it wouldn't surprise me if this rating goes up.
