Devil May Cry 3
Review
One of my favorite games of all time for sure. I fell in love with the Devil May Cry for its style and the fun challenging combat. This one is no different except it ups the ante by adding more weapons, more coolness, more craziness, and-- most importantly-- Virgil, Dante's twin brother. Oh man for Virgil's addition alone-- which I guess technically was just in the Special Edition, which is the only one I played-- this game was so sick. You'd beat the game the first time, a challenging as hell feat, but you'd be rewarded by being able to play through the game again as this fucking badass with a katana. Perhaps the only game that perfectly captures the classic anime trope of the dude with a katana that just touches the hilt of his sword, there's a flash, and then the enemy is cut. They recreated it SO well in this game. What a fun time.
Sure it had some sort of bat shit overdramatic story as well which I totally forgot but I was in for the cool and in for the challenge. And this game had it in spades.
