LEGO Builder's Journey

When it came out of the gate I was blown away by LEGO Builder's Journey. The visuals are some of the most gorgeous I've ever seen with the reflections on the surface of the LEGO bricks and the individual scratches and thumbprints on the surface of them. The music, the little narrative with the child and their parent, the playfulness of the puzzles. Incredible. But right after that you get hit with the fiddlyness of the controls. One button to both rotate and place the bricks? And half the time it doesn't really go where you want first try? Ok... And then you realize the puzzles aren't that engaging and only involve a minimal amount of creativity. I mean that's the whole point of LEGO: building what you want. But each level gives you a handful of pieces. Overall what started off with me being very excited ended in a whimper as I was speeding to finish an already incredible short game. Bummer.
I'd say it's worth checking out for 10 minutes if it's very very cheap but not really worth the money or time to play the whole thing.
