Aperture Desk Job
Review

A half hour of unadulterated Valve goodness. Don't expect the gameplay to blow your socks off. Though you, like me, might learn that your Steam Deck has gyroscopic touch (??). What you're here for is the hilarious writing, more Aperture lore, a sub plot where a civilization of praying mantises forms, and a cameo from... Nate Bargatze?
Also god bless a game that's only a half hour long. I could have played this 160 times in the time it's taken me to still not finish Metaphor Refantazio.

Of course it has Nate Bargatze as the voice of the robot. Absolutely hilarious writing as always. “Inmates possessions: desk, one…..<nothing else>”
Also the little sub plot background thing between scenes of the praying mantises advancing technologically and forming cities and moving through the ages. So cute.
God everything Valve touches is gold.
Gameplay is fine. Nothing special. It makes use of the Steam Deck but only in the most minimal way possible. A little gyroscopic touch here (had no idea that was a thing till playing this lol), a little rear buttons there, and that's it. But at the end of the day you’re here for the jokes and Valve lore.
