Makin' Magic's spell wore off on me almost as soon as I started playing it. Maybe it was because I was 12 and looking for something more E D G Y, something that could fit on Fuse TV--"I like The Mars Volta and Poison the Well BRO". Or maybe it's because it was kind of a fiddly, inventory-focused affair where you spent most of your time trying to craft or do one-off little activities. Sure, magic was it's only skill system and you even had a new currency to spend on all this wacky, magick-y stuff but it never really gripped me. Not enough to rope me back into the core of The Sims and its distilled masochism.
