The Sims: Hot Date
Review

Playing The Sims as a kid felt a bit lonely. You're always trapped to whatever lot you're playing on and the only Sims you get to play with are ones that came with the game or ones you created. And then came The Sims: Hot Date bringing the game to life like John Travolta slamming a shot of adrenaline into Uma Thurman's chest in Pulp Fiction (the ultimate hot date). Now you could Go Places and Meet People. "Townies", randomly generated Sims, populated every place you went to. The game felt alive for the first time.
It's for that reason and the unbelievably good jazz soundtrack (second only to the OG soundtrack) that Hot Date is THE expansion for The Sims. I'd go so far as to say it's the most important expansion ever released across every game in the series (though Sims 2 University gives it a run for its money).
