Forza Horizon 5

What an absurdly fun game. I haven't played a Forza game since the first one and wow they have really come a long way. The game is incredibly fun to me for 2 reasons. One: you have a huge open world and can really just fuck around. You can take a Ferrari and literally just go off roading up a mountain with it. You can drive a Lambo off a bridge. Or drag race an old Honda. Two: the detail they put into crafting these cars. Sure visually they're astounding but the sound, oh man the sound. Just listening to the different engines as you rip them around the track. Then the level of detail they render the insides of the cars. Each car I saw pretty much had a different dashboard rendered with different dials and meters and what not. Playing this honestly made me want to own a Lamborghini because jesus christ that thing looks and sounds so delightful.

There's other stuff. The sheer number of cars. The slow drip of unlocking stuff. The little roulette wheel to see what kind of car you get adds some excitement. The sheer variety of activities (though street racing is definitely the best). The fact that damage doesn't matter so I would win some races by hitting cars in a turn going 140 mph. What a blast. Damn now I want to play again lol.
