20 years later I'm still indignant that child-me was sold a shitty reskin of the Pokemon I already had (Red). And my reward? Having my party gimped with having to use Pikachu all so I could watch some fucking surf animation and have his yellow rat-ass follow me around.

Worthless cash-in. It added some basic color changes. A Pikachu you were forced to use even though Pikachu sucks. Dumb little minigames with him. And that's it. You bought a whole new game to be gimped with a bad party and dumb little mechanics. I can only see the allure if you're legit like a 6 year old. One of the dumbest games I've ever played.
