Hey whaddya know it's more Disgaea. But hold on this time we have ACTUAL 3D graphics. Yes, after 3D graphics after the initial fake out of going 3D with the 3 in the first PS3 copy where they added 3D....backgrounds. AND-- and this is the big one-- AUTO-BATTLING. That's right, remember how you'd have to either replay the same maps over and over to grind up characters or how you'd have to clear 100s of floors in the Item World manually become OP? Yeah how you'd have to make Superhero characters wearing 4 Accelerators so they could move like 30 spaces in a turn and skip to the warp gate? Nope now you can auto battle everything. Apparently some people complained about this addition and those people are stupid. Because it RULES.

I legitimately left my PS5 on for about 130 hours just grinding up my party. I'd wake up in the morning and before I went to work I'd start up my party grinding on a map. Periodically throughout the day I'd dial up the difficulty and then restart the map so I was optimizing for as much experience as possible. And then I came back with a level 99,999,999 character that was completely min-maxed and wiped up the rest of the content to get a Platinum trophy. Yes, that rules.

Other than that what else is there to say? You got a new cast of characters, this time a zombie boy trying to save his sister who plot twist is actually the giant monster he keeps fighting over and over and plot twist the dog who's his best friend is really the villain but who could have guessed they make up and become friends in the end. Yeah it's typical garbage. They got some princess lady with the largest tits I've ever seen, there's a power rangers knockoff girl, Laharl and co show up in the post game. Whatever we're not here for that.

We're here because in this game you can get to fucking level 99 million and do quintillions of damage in a single turn. We play because now instead of just Carnage you have Rakshasa. To be honest, I'm sure a lot of these things I'm mentioning were added in other games and I didn't notice them because I haven't gone really deep into the post game since...3? But that's the wonderful thing about the auto-battling. I can suddenly engage with the insane post game without having to spend 40 hours of my life just grinding the Item World or whatever.

Love this series and this is really a return to form for me.
