Sid Meier's Civilization II

The classic. This was one of the first games that I got into big time as a kid. I think I got shown this by Daniel Woislaw. It was so complicated and I had no idea what I was doing but being able to paint the map with your units and the detailed tech trees. Researching stealth bombers, which for an 8 year old were like the coolest things on earth, was so exciting.

Obviously it's incredibly dated and I don't think I ever truly grappled with a lot of the complexity of it. Even as I played it solo in my room for years. But it still holds a special place in my heart for getting me started on one of the greatest gaming series ever.
