I don't know why I bounced off of this originally. Maybe because I was like... 22. Or maybe because I just didn't want to invest the time to learn a new Strategy game. Hell, I dunno if they had a tutorial when I played it when it came out. They did this time though. It is actually a pretty wonderful reproduction of Civ. With some pretty cool enhancements. The customization of units and heroes is pretty cool. I like the lore. Love the fact that different factions essentially play completely differently. I really want to try the one-city folk. Yeah, super cool game. Since I'm on a beat-as-many-games-as-possible binge right now I might move on but this is definitely one that'd be worth coming back to.
11/11/2020 Update
Dropping this to a 7. While all of that is true it just doesn't have anywhere near the replayability of Civ. The actual combat and map expansion bits just don't jive that well. It just feels like a cheaper Civ Lite and thus it's really not worth of a higher score.
